I'm not big into blogs/social media myself, but I am interested in following it to see how it will affect the way that companies commmunicate with their customers and promote their business. It will be interesting to see how much Web 3.0 will change all industies.
I work in social media and I honestly just love managing an organization's or a business' social media. Its a lot of fun creating custom content for Facebook fan pages, coming up with social media plans, and integrating promotional materials into social media. Its a lot of fun.
I have never followed blogs before or created one. I am much more into the twitter and facebook when it comes to social media. I think blogs are an interesting way to promote a business or talk about a topic.
I would like to learn more about blogs and how businesses can make a blog successful. It is obvious to me that social media is currently a huge trend and a company being able to utilize a blog will allow them to either have a competitive advantage or maintain the status quo.
I have never done blogs before, but I am pretty experienced with twitter and facebook. I think twitter is my favorite aspect of social networking, because it lets you speak your mind whenever about whatever. I would like to learn more about the video aspect of social networking since I havent fooled around with it that much.
The social media that I best is Facebook just because I am the most familiar with it and I also have to use it for my internship. Twitter is one area that I am getting to know better and I like so far. However, I am not very sure about this blogging thing. I think I need more practice with it to tell if I will like it or not. I also probably need to think of more things to write about
The social media that I like best is Facebook and Pinterest! Twitter is something that I would like to learn more about from a business perscpetive and from a personal perspective I am not a big fan of it. I would like to explore all areas of social media throughout the semester.
My favorite area of social media would include facebook. I like this one the best because i have been using it for a long time and am the most familiar with it. Twitter is starting to grow on me and im sure that one day i will like it just as much as facebook.
The two social media sites that I use most often would definitely be Facebook and Pinterest. I use Twitter rarely, but would like to learn how to use it better and become more familiar with it like I am with the other two. Twitter would also be interesting to find out more about how businesses use it.
Before beginning this class, the only type of social media I used was Facebook. Ever since we were required to make a Twitter, I have grown to really love it. I think that Twitter can be a huge benefit to the business world if it is used correctly. I am not a huge fan of blogs. I feel that in order to create a blog that people really love to follow and that you love to manage, you have to be extremely knowledgeable or passionate about the thing you are blogging about. I just don't think it's something that a lot of people can get into.
The two social media that I currently partake in are Facebook and Twitter. I never really did enjoy Twitter until I was forced to use it this semester by Bus111 and Bus311. It was really interesting in learning the in's and out's of Twitter. I really dislike the blogs part that we are currently doing because I really don't see myself writing blogs.
My favorite form of social media is Facebook. I love to stay in touch with my friends that have moved away for school. Twitter is okay also but I get more interaction with my friends when I use Facebook. I would like to gain more knowledge about LinkedIn because I know that it can be a good way to network with people on a professional and business level. It would be a good resource for looking for jobs, especially after I graduate in May 2013!
Before bus111 the only social media I was involved in was Facebook which is by far my favorite. I am starting to get the hang of Twitter but Blogging is still giving me a little troubles. All in all I'm enjoying the class and learning a lot. I am a social work major so this is a totally different style for me.
My favorite social media sites to use are facebook and twitter. I have a LinkedIn but don't really do anything with it, so I am interested in learning more about LinkedIn. Until this class I haven't done any blogging or anything, so that was an interesting experience.
Facebook is my favorite social media website but that is only because I don't have much experience with the others. I also really enjoy using LinkedIn. This site has allowed me to connect with professionals and updates me on jobs I may be interested in. I use LinkedIn more for professional use and Facebook for communicating with friends and family.
One of my favorite social media sites so far is facebook, probably just because I'm brand loyal and it's something I have been used to for a long time. I am really interested in pinterest though and would like to learn more about it. A lot of my friends have it and I want to get one. I have also read on linked in that it's starting to become very popular.
Facebook is probably my favorite social media website because you can keep in contact with others and is so huge now that if you are not on Facebook it seems like you don't exist. I am still warming up to Twitter and LinkedIn and do not know much about those two right now but seem interesting.
My favorite social media websites are twitter and facebook. I use facebook to stay connected with friends and to share content like random videos. I like to use twitter to monitor business and keep up to date with what they are doing or with special discounts that they dont mention anywhere else. It would be interesting to how you could market yourself to employers who you wish to connect with through social media.
I'm a fan of Facebook, just becuase I am so used to it. Using Blogger is pretty tough for me, trying to lean how to design my own page was difficult. Also Its hard trying to search for people, or business on blogger.
I feel as if my gut wants me to say Facebook. I have been using that the longest and thats where I am rooted. Keep in mind, I said the same exact thing about MySpace when that came out and I crossed over to facebook. Facebook has a functional interface that everyone can pick up the learning curve on rather quickly. Creating a blog, a wiki, or even tweeting is more than just for reading a status. They are require active participation in discussion. They also offer a little more in terms of creativity. Although I am creative, I am finding it hard to get used to each interface.
My favorite social media is still Facebook and my second favorite is Twitter-I think if I had more friends on Twitter that would be my favorite. I would like to know more about LinkedIn and Pinterest.
One tip I found was that it is important to add keywords to your blog titles and posts. Found at http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/7-blogging-tips-from-top-bloggers/
When blogging always try to respond to others who comment on your blog. Also remember to keep your blog updated otherwise you will tend to loose viewers which will lead to you losing comments on your blogs.
If someone is replying or posting negative things on your blog, remember to be professional and mature about it. Sometimes ignoring is the best and only option!
I like using Facebook as my main social media because it is easy to use and you can keep in contact with friends and family easily. I am beginning to like blogging because it is simple and fun!
Blogging takes time and patience. Be understanding and conscientious of other's opinions. Nothing but constructive comments and positive things to say.
One tip I found was that you should not to write in abbreviations. For example using "u" instead of "you" or using "2" instead of "to" or "too". It makes it frustrating to read and it's unprofessional. Despite your knowledge or background in the subject, most of the people reading your posts will assume you're young, immature, and uneducated.
I have found that when blogging you need to use proper english, punctuation, and grammar otherwise people get upset. They comment that a blog is not for texting format, its professional.
One tip I found was Display your social media icons prominently toward the top of your website. This way it easier for your readers to connect with you.
I have found that shorter posts are more effective then posts that continue to ramble on. Viewers attention spans are so short, you must be efficient with your message.
One tip I would like to share with new bloggers is simple but goes a long way: DON'T STRESS. As I started creating my blog, I got myself so confused and picked layouts that I didn't know how to work with. I gave up; however, the next day I was just sitting in my room and I said I will try again, and it all came so naturally. And I love blogger now, and I have been on it a lot since I didn't stress about it.
I have never really been too interested in blogging myself but I found for this assignment that it is actually kind of fun blogging about something you enjoy.
One tip I found is a simple one, but if the title of your post doesn't make you think twice and really grab your attention, then your post likely won't be read.
I love Social Media and I find it important for companies to have social media pages along with us. To me; social media is a very interesting topic and I am always ready to learn what is new out there.
When you are blogging for a company, keep in mind how important it is to blog about something that is useful and valuable to your viewers, or they might not viewing you for much longer.
A tip I found on dailyblogtips.com to help first time bloggers (individual or company) is to remember that ... "It's all about your readers. You have to instinctively know the questions that the reader will ask about the industry sector you cover and you must cater to those queries by providing in-depth, unique, and compelling information."
"Live Blogging" is something many news sources use to cover events such as sports, debates, and many others. Great way to entertain an internet audience and attract new followers.
Blogging can be a challenge at first when trying to find the right topics to discuss and how to convey your ideas to the general public without a bias, but it can be very entertaining and insightful as well. Through some web surfing I have found a site that opens the door to marketing blogs for business, and identifies some benefits to blogging. http://homebusiness.about.com/od/blogmarketing/a/blog_marketing2.htm
The area of social media I like the best is how companies react to customers' complaints or issues. I believe by following some companies, we can all see how companies react to customers and how customers react to companies.

ReplyDeleteI have never had much of an interest in blogs, but it is nice how much you can customize the website for yourself.
